I knew that writing for this site would be a challenging task, but I’m finding that just narrowing my selection down to 5 pictures even harder. I do have have a goal in mind though, in my selection. I’m looking for an energy. An energy in a family, in a movement, in just being… Pictures that tell their story without words.
For those of you without kids, this is a great example of what it is like. Just looking at this picture makes me tired! Children posses this everlasting energy that’s hard to capture, but Joy has done a wonderful job, as always.
I find this a bold, if not beautiful, image. This photo tells her story from the very beginning and shows the moments that most define her…
I love this image! I have no idea what Karen really does for a living, but the glasses give off a very passive vibe and then her pose is the total opposite…. so carefree and fun… This photo makes me want to turn up the music.
If those girls posses even half off the energy Brittany radiates in this photo, there will be no stopping them.
Doesn’t she look like you could just learn amazing things from her? Like she’s got so much she could share? I’m a sucker for eyes…
Attention - super keen, computer literate, blog fanatic, self portrait challenge weekly people - I am looking for 2-3 people to join the team - email me - see side bar for contact details.
Am I the only one who finds it difficult to keep introducing myself week after week? I bet it’s really similar to meeting me in person. I’m sort of bad about having to meet people several times before I remember what the name of their face is.
Still…the difficulty of this challenge just makes interesting art, when you reach the end of your ideas and it happens anyway.
For this week:
Composition
Great expression, great movement, great angle (sucker for angles, right here). Thanks Zabsdays.
Hi! How excited I am to post from this venue. I LOVE the new format. More than anything, I love that I will no longer have to hunt through hundreds of blogs to find IF someone participated that week and WHERE their picture is. Love it, love it, love it. As does my boss (though she doesn’t know it) because I will now have more time to actually do my assigned paid-for job-type work.
With that, I’m also going to change up my Friday Faves a bit. There are SO MANY posters that I can’t possible cover them all each week. So I will pick four pictures that stand out to me, in the same categories as before. But know that these aren’t necessarily “THE BEST OF THE BEST”. No, they’re “THE BEST OF WHAT HOLLYRHEA LOOKED AT THIS WEEK”.
and how.
Composition
From AbbyMarie. I love the division and the lines of her hair.
Thank you for everyone participating in the very first week of the new site. As you can see or have experienced there are teething problems, we may have to change the template as its not playing nicely with with IE. But any transition will be smooth. In the meantime please continue to email or comment with any probs you are experiencing and I will try to help.
Here are some randomly chosen from the first batch so far.
To launch the new site I want to know who you are and for you to ‘meet’ each other. please introduce yourself
This is a very open challenge - please interpret how you like.
Post your image - a standard portrait or maybe a mirror image or maybe a self documentary series and describe yourself a little - you could try answering some of these questions about yourself:
how do you spend your weekdays?
who lives in your house?
favourite pastime and worst job
why are you doing self portraits?
please read the participation instructions - let me know if you have any problems.
