Final week of your environment and I have really loved seeing where this community comes from. It is so diverse yet we all some something in common.

A piece of my heart beats the cool waters, the fiery sun dance, the air as fresh as leaves that dance on trees. I spent summers yelling at the sky in rage; singing softly on the shore; writing madly my face pressed into the sand; running up and down the shoreline; stripping down in the heat of the night and running naked into cool waters amongst the laughter of joy; sketching on paper’s burnt end as my skin turned brown in the breeze and crying the tears of sorrow that lifted me towards the heartbeat of warm waters holding me in a loving caress.
susies sacred place - standing and looking out.

This is the first time I have climbed a mountain to the top! For the first part I had no problem at all, it was just like when I lived on Eagle Mountain and I kept a great pace, my husband was very impressed and then he mentioned, we’re almost there.
Baby faith bubbles

The past year has been rough, it feels like I’ve survived by the skin of my teeth. Whether you just started reading this blog or you’ve lived every second by my side - you’ve got to agree there was room for improvement.

coffee break

I’ve been reading several wonderful blogs these days (most are listed in my favorite things column, right over there ——->) and discovered something called The Self Portrait Project. It basically sounded like torture to me: once a month, a theme is posted, each week during the month, you take your photo interpreting that theme and post it for everyone to see. It’s taken me three months to work up the nerve to do this… but here I am. [welcome to our community - ed]
Well, it seems that I’ve been lost in my own environment this month — apologies for this late posting. Here are some of my faves for this week:

I have literally taken everything I find important, beautiful and meaningful in my life and tried to share it with my kids

you are my new natural environment
soaking up sun. School’s out. Summer’s finally here.

i have a need to spend time out side

This is all. Me, in my space. Doing what I do..

I’m pretty obsessed by going to concerts. Most years, the bulk of my vacation time goes toward concert going.

This past month has breathed new life into me, has pulled back blinders clouding my sight, has spiraled my emotions across a swamp green landing, spongy soft and incoherent.

Already I’ve had to wash ice off the car before setting out for work. The heaters are going even during the day and I’ve pulled my thermals out. We’ve had lots of cold grey looking days and quite a bit of fog.

Our room is dark and cosy and it is grey outside today

this is my world - the incredible view, the trees, the wide and open sky. and if i could infuse this photograph with sounds, you would hear the lilting music of many different birdsongs, the rushing of a mountain stream below, the breeze in the trees.

The belief that every thing has a spirit pushes me to take care of the living things around me. I love to tend to my plants. I rarely ever have one that dies.

I love the spacious countryside and the sea more. I love its many colours, the clean(er) and fresh(er) air, the fields, and the cows and sheep.
been gone for a bit and so very happy to be back. you all continue to inspire me, really– no end to the inspiration and for that, I thank you.
Seasons - June
For us in the Southern Hemisphere June marks the onset of Winter. And for the Northerners it is getting warm. This month the challenge is to show yourself in your surroundings, using your environment as a marker of who you are. It might be the onset of extreme weather or it might be the particular seasonal fruits and foods you like to eat or places you like to visit or activities you participate in that are special to this time of year. Another aspect of ‘environment’ can be how you participate in the care of or how you feel about your special surrounding. There might be woodland area you spend one day month taking care of, or you might be part of a community gardening project, you might join in on national clean up day or tree planting for your local school. Or you might just spend this time of the year taking care of your vegetable garden or reveling in the joyous season. Show us what is special to you in your environment.
