I have loved this theme - a bit esoteric, but sometimes that draws out creativity more than a tightly controlled theme. Next week we start on Contrast, so look out for that … for now here are my faves this week - shine on! - shiny happy faces…

I loved all the theme suggestions and will be doing a few of them over the coming months.
For this month I thought ‘contrast’ would be perfect to start on. Not too hard for the new and inexperienced photographers/self portraitist’s but does hold challenges for those who are looking for them.
Contrast can be interpreted in many different ways - for those looking for technical challenges in their photography they can use this theme to explore light, to explore contrast in colour or black and white photography, to explore texture and tone or to explore the contrast between subject and photograph style.
Contrast can also be less literal and more subjective - you could explore contrast in subject matter, or by taking two photos and showing them side by side.
