welcome to self portrait challenge

whipup

Hello everyone,

I am very happy to announce the launch date of the new self portrait challenge website.

Monday 1 May.
On this date a few things will happen

1. Tthe bloglines on self portrait tuesday will be deleted - and the new link uploader on this site will come into action - this means that everyone will have to upload their self portrait each week they participate, to the new website.
More on how to do that in a minute.
2. The blogspot archives from self portrait tuesday will be transferred to this new website - most of them are already transferred but the latest ones will be here too - and no more updates will occur at self portrait tuesday.
3. This site will be the primary site and self portrait tuesday will no longer be available.

What?

  • This site will work as before - a monthly theme will be posted which will run for each week in the month.
  • The week will go tuesday to tuesday as before, you will be able to upload your link on any day in the week - you are not limited to tuesdays.
  • You will need to upload your link - this is the permalink link to your Self portrait post not the link to your main blog page.
  • More instructions about uploading links can be found in the sidebar- but basically each week you post as normal on your blog and then submit the link to the site - its quick and easy.
  • As before the authors on the site will continue to feature a few self portraits each week - and as we expand the site we will add new features and more ways to participate.
  • So for now you might want to grab the new badge and change your links on your site.

Cut and paste this code into your sites sidebar

I love your new buttons, but you may want to offer a GIF version with a transparent background.

The new site looks fabulous! I like that we aren’t limited to Tuesdays and it will be easier to browse through peoples submissions! Thanks!

maybe I should tone it down a notch on the exclamation points (but seriously, it looks great)

Will it be necessary to go through our old posts and update links (made previously) to the blogspot site and ensure they now link to the new dot net site … or will the blogspot site remain (though not updated)?
I’ve changed the ‘main’ link on my site to the new dot net site but not clear whether I need to change the links in each of my SPT posts.
Thanks

Can you e-mail me this project? I really want to be involved, but I a newbie to the whole blogging world and I can’t seem to get the button in my links. Also do we upload the pictures to our own blog or just to this website?

The new site looks fab! It sounds like it will be much easier for you too! I was wondering how much work that was getting to be. Coolness!

Sarah, to get the button work, you should replace the ” with ” in the sourcecode and it will work (I had the same problem, too).

Regards, ayumihara

Dear moderator, could you please correct my last post: I wanted to reply to mommyzabs, not to sarah.

Sorry for messing this up.
When I had problems with the code that includes the button, I found out that I had to change the from the ” sign to the " sign in the sourcecode. Here, both signs look the same.

Anybody responsible around?
Please delete my posts 9 and 10. Thanks :-)

Thank you ayumihara - I needed to change my (”) - my code works fine now. Appreciate the help.
