Time for a new challenge - I thought I would start the year off by looking back.
Personal History
Explore the cross over between self portraiture and family photography. This challenge can be as simple as revisiting old family snap shots - to tell a story.
Technical advice - scan in old pics - or photograph old pics. Use them in various ways to think back on your journey through life, your achievements, mistakes, highlights and low points. Perhaps you could make a time line or overlay several images. Tell a story.
update: for those not feeling this challenge - or having difficulty accessing old photos - why not try a different tack and revisit old places from your past - or use found photographs or old newspaper images to illustrate your story.
Sorry for the early update this week and last week. Coming up to christmas I have been busy and on holiday and just update when and how I am able. If I do update early then that means I have featured some SPT’s from the previous week that missed out. Please continue to post on a tuesday wherever you are. I often have a look at the previous week to see what I have missed.
If you are worried that you have not been featured then please read this post on how to be featured. Please remember that there are rather a lot of people posting and I can’t feature everyone every week. However if you think that you posted a great image and I overlooked it please feel free to email me and let me know (see side bar for email).
There have been rather a lot of new people joining and due to the time of year I have not managed to answer every email and if you are still not on the bloglines then please be patient I will get there soon.
One other thing - I would like to expand SPT a little and would like some imput about what you would like to see. I personally would like some critique on some images and to see a different perspective than just mine. To achieve this I would like a couple of regular and enthusiastic Self Portrait Tuesday posters to become a contributor on this site - posting about their weekly favourites and offering critiques and comments on a few images each week or bi-monthly. If this interests you please email me with ‘contributor’ in the subject and why you think you might like to participate and what you could bring to SPT.
