Still one week to go on november’s challenge. If you are getting a bit tired of it, feeling like you have given all you have to give, feel like you don’t know what to try next - well now is the time to push your limits, explore places you feel uncomfortable exploring, get out of your comfort zone and try a little harder.

The december challenge is a bit easier, coming up to christmas where everyone is so busy.
But on reflection (ha ha) this challenge might be easy to take an image, but it does require some thought and some planning.
So first the challenge:
To take an image of yourself in a reflective surface
The reflective surface can be a bathroom mirror (the most obvious), but try different things like a window, shiny car bonnet, still pond, or be adventurous with your mirror images - use a handmirror in different locations, take advantage of public mirrors. The other thing to do is to use the mirror to reflect not just your face but memorablilia that might add to the story.
Take a look at these websites for inspiration:
the mirror project
flickr mirror project
mirror mirror - heather champ
Technical info:
online photographic magazine has some tips for self portraits
for a good shot in a mirror - don’t use the flash, you can have the camera in view or not, you can be the main subject or the background, you can use a tripod or handhold the camera.
Some examples:
I like this image at the mirror project taken in a aeroplane toilet cubicle
This image is a reflection in a dolls eye
I like this one - blue bathroom mirror
using mirror in a shop
reflection in a window of a wig shop is inventive
I love these older pics at port2port bedroom mirror I love how there are books and memorabilia that add to the story and public bathroom mirror use of different places and spaces.
I hope you all like this months challenge and can find some time in the busy lead up to christmas to continue to participate.

This is what I am looking for when I feature images.
- the image must address the theme
- images that make me look and then look again
- posting on the correct day will insure that I actually see the image
- putting self portrait tuesday in the heading will help me find your image
- talk about the image, why, what, how - back ground story etc, this will make me give the image a second look
- I must be able to save and download a decent sized image for me to then upload it on the spt blog
- dedicating the post to self portrait tuesday rather than hiding your self portrait amongst a whole lot of unrelated stuff will help - alot.
- show something daring, or show emotion, be vulnerable, be expressive, don’t be afraid to be real - or imaginative - or funny - make me think about it - or laugh at it.
- send me an email and make sure you are on the blog roll and if you think that your image was accidently overlooked - feel free to shoot me an email and let me know about it.
- the image must be viewable - don’t post an image that is dark or too blurry, that is difficult to decipher, or that is manipulated in photoshop too much.
hope this helps and keep up the good work - I am loving everyones participation
